The start of a new year is usually the time when people think of the things they want to change in their lives. The most common resolution people make is that they will begin to do regular exercises in order to stay healthy However, after the lapse of a few months or even a few weeks, most people give up.

The reason for this is that they do not enjoy exercising. An American Heart Association nationwide survey states that most Americans are not physically active. Because of this, some 2,500 people die in USA every year, twelve percent of them due to physical inactivity. A common misconception is that exercising is only for people who are young, buff and love the outdoors.

You should know that exercising is good for everybody, and it does not have to be a burden. All you need to do is find the fun factor in your physical exercises. This makes the workout more fun, so it will not be considered a chore. You will also avoid the feeling of being forced to perform exercises, because you will develop a new perception of exercise time as being a time to enjoy yourself

So how can I make my workout enjoyable?

To avoid boredom while doing exercises, you have to think of ways to increase the fun factor. This task can be done by changing your workout routine as much as you can. Avoid simple and tedious exercises and focus your routines on diversity. If you go to the gym to exercise, a good suggestion is to go outside once in a while to see and feel nature. This will relieve the dullness of lifting weights inside a closed space for a long period

Kids are naturally athletic because they love playing different kinds of sports or games outdoors. You can become athletic once again by doing the things you loved to do as a kid. These activities can include riding a bike, rollerblading, running, or jumping. This is also a good way to forget your problems for a while. Studies showed that regular exercise can minimize the stress people feel during work.

When you love being with people, you can invite them to play team sports such as volleyball, basketball, and baseball. When you get bored with the sports, you can always go for a long walk.

Once in a while, it is good to heed the call of the wild. Boost fun in your life by going camping, climbing, hiking, and other nature-tripping activities.

You can actually perform a wide range of exercises even when you are alone. Intensive exercises are available for individual workouts such as rock climbing, long jumps, marathons, and a lot more. All these suggestions can definitely add some variety to your exercise regimen and, thus avoid monotony.

However, even if you change exercises as often as you want, there will still come a time when boredom unexpectedly sets in. When this happens, change your outlook on the regimen. For example, in sports activities, instead of thinking about winning the game, concentrate on your body. Think about what the sport is actually doing for your body. When you have changed your goal, it’s a sure bet to say that exercising will once again be fun and exciting.
