Beat the Beer Belly
Get rid of the Belly and still enjoy Beer
Drinking beer or any other alcoholic drink is not all that bad. In fact, there are a number of positive benefits that can come from these drinks.
Some clinical studies have shown that occasional consumption of alcoholic beverages has positive effects on the state of the cardiovascular system.
The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, also declared that an average man could drink up to four units of beer in one day and not have any serious effects on his body. One unit, by the way, is the equivalent of one half pint of a regular beer.
The problem with men nowadays is that they drink too much beer whenever they want to have a good time, to forget about their problems, or if they simply have nothing better to do. Their tendency, therefore, is to exceed the maximum amount of alcohol considered by the doctors as beneficial to the body.
As a result, men usually become overweight, which is obvious from their bulging bellies. And with these beer bellies come serious health problems such as liver conditions, diabetes, cancer, and even heart dysfunctions.

Fortunately, there are several easy steps to transform yourself into a healthy human being without totally giving up on your favorite beverage.
The most common way to remove abdominal fat is to lessen your alcohol intake. Beer adds to the body’s calories intake. Remember that the body can only properly digest only a certain amount of calories. When they are not entirely digested, calories are simply stored inside the body.
These stored calories become additional bulging fat when you do not burn them through simple exercises such as walking, jogging and running. Alcohol also increases a person’s appetite, so it is highly advisable to maintain fitness through daily exercises.
Alcohol is not the only source of calories. You can also get it from your favorite foods such as pork, chicken, beef, turkey and other carbohydrate-rich foods. A good way to remove excess fat is to balance the calories from your food and those from your drinks. You can do this by drinking beverages containing fewer calories.
What to do?
When you start your drinking session, make sure that you drink water first to fill your stomach a bit and get rid of that thirst. After that, you can alternate the alcoholic beverage with other low calorie drinks such as lemonade and diet Coke.
Instead of taking in calories from beer, it would be better to obtain them through food. To burn up that stored fat, you can try drinking beer after walking for a minimum of 45 minutes or a distance of one mile.
It will not only burn up excess calories, but it will also help make you a healthier person. Studies have shown that daily walking lessens heart problems, prevents cancers, and lengthens your lifespan.
Lastly, it would be wise to share your knowledge with your friends in order to give them some ideas about preventing beer bellies and becoming healthier people. It is noteworthy that most people are afraid of changing their diets because they think they will starve themselves to death.
The first thing you have to remember is that you do not have to stop eating your favorite foods; you just have to choose the food your body needs. Starving yourself will definitely lose you some excess weight, but not in a healthy manner.
Underweight people are also prone to sicknesses and diseases. Instead of starving, you simply have to practice the art of clever eating. This means lessening your habit of eating junk foods and starting a healthier diet.

As I have been on this regime now for nearly 9 weeks and have only lost 1 pound! It is not working and I am doing all the right things – ging to gym 3-4 times a week – eating a low fat diet and 2 litres of water per day – I am very despondent – can someone make any suggestions please?
