How Does Jennifer Aniston Stay So Slim The Zone Diet Explained.

Jennifer Aniston And The Zone Diet

Jennifer Aniston stays slim on the Zone DietYou cannot deny that Jennifer Aniston is a truly beautiful and trim figure! And not just Ms. Aniston, but also movie veterans Renée Zellweger, super model Cindy Crawford and world renowned actor Tom Cruise.

But what do all four celebrities have in common? They are all practitioners of the Zone Diet, and believe it to be the driving force behind maintaining, not only consistent weight loss, but also a balanced and healthy state of body and mind.

The Zone Diet concept

Many diets are based on the idea of restricting certain foods from the body, or reducing the amount you consume.

Zone Diet creator Barry Sears thinks that this is completely the wrong approach to dieting. Barry Sear’s claim is that when a person eats too little fat, the body naturally releases insulin into the body, causing the body to store more fat.

In addition restricting the body of food has the natural effect of making a person feel sluggish throughout the day.

Therefore the only safe way to lose wait, according to Barry Sears, is to get your body into a perfect hormonal balance; aka The Zone!

By feeding your body a steady and balanced flow of food into your body you will enter the zone. By doing this you will enter into a hormonal balance state, meaning that your body will not hold on to your fat stores, allowing you to lose weight naturally, without the unfortunate side effects such as tiredness, mild depression and a reduce sex drive.

How to get into THE ZONE

The Zone diet works by not restricting calories or food to the body, but ensuring that the body eats a wide variety of “different” calories and that the body maintains a regular flow of good proteins, favourable carbohydrates and unfavourable carbohydrates. By maintaining the this steady balance, you will become hormonally balance and lose weight steadily without any yo-yo effect. The effect can also be advanced with the use of a fat binder.

These must be eaten in a strict ratio of 40:30:30 (carbohydrates, proteins and fats respectively.

What you should eat on The Zone diet

Below is a general overview of what each of your meals under The Zone diet would be like:

- A small portion of protein, roughly the size of your palm or one small chicken breast.

- A portion of “favourable” carbohydrates twice the size of your protein portion. “Favourable” carbohydrates include vegetables, lentils, beans, whole grains and most fruits.

- A slightly smaller portion of “unfavourable” carbohydrates, including brown rice, pasta, papaya, mango, banana, dry breakfast cereal, bread and all fruit juices.

By following this diet, the example of what you will eat on this diet could include:

- Breakfast: a egg white omelette with turkey and grated cheddar cheese

- Lunch: a chicken three-bean salad for lunch

- Dinner: roast lamb with barley salad and sweet potato for dinner

As you can see from the above meals, the Zone Diet aims to offer a very balance meal three times a day. Many celebrities have stated that this can make the diet slightly fiddly, with the measuring of portion being time consuming.

However successfully dieters on average have found that they have lost up to 5 pounds in weight in the first week, and then go on to lose a further 2 pounds for each consecutive week.

The Zone Diet critics

For every loyal follower of The Zone Diet there is a sceptic.

Like all low carbohydrate diets there are also some health concerns. Current healthy eating guidelines recommend that 50% of our calories should come from carbohydrate and only 15% from protein. However The Zone Diet would be mostly made up of protein and fats.

Sceptics also don’t believe that regulating insulin will help with weight loss unlike Sears who thinks that excess insulin makes us fat and keeps us fat.

What do you think?

The Zone Diet is certainly interesting. Often diets are criticised for being unrealistic and potentially unhealthy due to the restriction of food.

However this is different; by keeping a balanced diet you can supposively maintain a steady weight loss WITHOUT any loss of energy that keeps you going every day.
